Welcome to the Website of Cyngor Cymuned Lledrod


Lledrod Community Council comprises the villages of Bronant, Lledrod, Blaenpennal and Bontnewydd and is home to around 500 residents. It has 2 wards, namely Lledrod Isaf which has 5 councillors and Blaenpennal which has 4 councillors.

The Council meets on the 3rd Monday every month, except for August, in Bronant Vestry. An AGM is held in April when a Chair and Vice-Chair is elected to serve for a 2 year period. A Finance Officer and external auditor are also nominated.

The Council receives an annual sum of £3,250 from the company which is responsible for the wind turbines within its area borders and this money is distributed to worthy causes or improvements within the Community.

The main responsibilities of the Council are commenting on planning applications, keeping an eye on the condition of roads and drawing the County Council's attention to any weaknesses or needs, ensuring that street lighting is functioning and responding to reports from the County Council, Police Authority etc.

The Council employs a part-time Clerk to operate the decisions made by the Council. The Council also decides on the precept annually, the local tax for every household - £2,321.00.

The Council is affiliated to Un Llais Cymru / One Voice Wales with the Chair attending the Annual Conference and other meetings.

Council meetings

The Council meets on the 3rd Monday every month, except for August, in Bronant Vestry, at 8.00 o'clock.
